Charges for the preparation of osteological material |
||||||||||||||||||
*dependent upon size of animal The list above is based on mammals; prices for other animals would be worked out according to their size similarity with mammals, e.g. frogs and toads/small passerines would be the same as mice etc with the price increasing pro rata. Large marine mammals such as seals, porpoises, dolphins etc. will be priced individually after negotiation with the client. All skeletons are supplied disarticulated. However, for an additional £10 the vertebrae can be wired together and the four limbs kept separate. All fish specimens are between £20 and £30 per specimen up to .5m, with the price increasing pro-rata for larger specimens. Species with large numbers of bones (e.g. eels) or dermal denticles (e.g. smooth hounds) will be slightly more expensive due to the extra time required for preparation. All prices apply whether Bodies to Bones supply the carcase or process client 's own specimens. In the case of client's own specimens, a charge of £10 will be made for skulls that present difficulties in processing e.g. severe dessication. Postage will be charged at cost, as will any large expenses incurred in acquiring specimens. |
